Working

I've been working on the family tree again. Alex came home with an assignment to make a family tree, I called Bapa and he told me to call Verlea and she gave me a ton of information on the Knutson side of the family (THANKS VERLEA). Of course that got me going on the other side of the family again. I found two obituaries on rootsweb or ancestry.com for people in the Lane line...I was so excited...that means there are more out there looking which makes finding information easier...LOL. I have all the information in a program called family tree maker, which I really like, but for some reason it says I had a newer version of my last save and it won't open up. I tried to buy a new version but they won't process my order....grrrr....I will have to call them and cancel it...I will just buy it at the store.
Anyway, great fun for me....I'm such a DORK right?!

Prom

I can't believe my baby is old enough for prom! She spent all day getting ready...or thinking about getting ready. Hair at 10, nails at 11.30 (we did those at home) dress at 1.15, pictures from 2-4 dinner at 4.30, grand march at 7.30. I was so excited and I was taking pictures of all the friends I recognized. I had to really listen to names though since they look so different all dolled up. Of course when it was time for my baby, the camera turned itself off and I couldn't get it back on in time to get a picture under the arch....GRRRRRRR. I was almost in tears. I did end up getting some afterwards, not quite the same, but good enough.
She was very excited and had a wonderful time.

Saturday

It's my first Saturday off since I started back to work. I did ok, I made it through the "week", but next week I go back all week and 10 hour days.
Todd wasn't too happy that I am offered OT every week and I don't take it. Well, I might take it once in a while if I weren't already working 10 hour days so that we can pick up Abby on Thursday instead of Friday. He thinks 13 hour days are fine...excuse me?!?!?!
Alex has ACT testing today. This is her second go....she better do much better than last time....though she thinks a 23 is good....ummm..no. Not for you.
That's 69.??%, not good enough. I know she is can do better. A bunch of her friends came over last night and were trying to finish up studying, I think they ended up talking about prom more than studying.
We both have a pretty good cold. Mine a little further along than hers. Both stuffy and chilled. Both sore throats and starting to get an annoying cough. Hopefully she can take some of the medicine I bought for Abby to get her through the test.
Crop today. Snow outside....so I'm thinking the ones from out of town (Merrill) may not make it. I'm hoping Tammi can come...I really want to get her started. It may just be Chris and I. :)

UGGGHHH

I'm back to work and right about now I'm not really liking it. I don't like that before I know it 8:00 is here and I only have about an hour left before my eyes will no longer stay open. I don't like that I have to force myself out of bed everyday to go someplace I hate to do something I hate. I like the people I work with (most of the time...LOL) so that makes it bearable I suppose. Uggghhh....5.5 more years...:)At least tomorrow is Friday.
Derek and Christyna came over tonight to pick up some paperwork...Derek tried to take the cookies we bought for Abby home with him. I'm not sure where his sweet tooth came from. He doesn't really care for sweets....well, apparetnly he does now, but he never really did as a kid. He didn't make it out of the house with them though.
Alex told me today that it feels like we won the lottery. We got our taxes back, we didn't have anything big to buy this time....so it's going slowly.....We finally got a tv for the living room....I don't have to watch in bed anymore. That's a good thing, maybe now I won't be bothering Todd for DVR anymore now that I get to actually watch stuff when i want to. We bought a whole pig and a mixed quarter beef, we won't be buying meat this year anymore. Little things like new phones because both the old ones were going at the same time. New lamps for the living room. We are also ordering a new bathtub and toilet for the upstairs bathroom next week. Hopefully we get it installed before someone falls through the old one. :)
After that it will be gone again, but all the things that have been being neglected are taken care of now.

It's my last weekend

It's my last weekend of Freedom. Wednesday I have to go back to work. I am not looking forward to it AT ALL! I didn't get half the things done that I wanted to, not even close....now I have to do them on the weekends again.
Abby is here again this weekend. Derek and Christyna went down to get her. It was nice to not have to do it for a change....but we will have to take her back on Sunday. Hopefully Derek will be able to pick her up more often.
My brother who lives in Florida has 2 daughters. One is 18 and the other is 8. The family has kind of lost touch with the older one, not on purpose, but just life. I try to keep in touch when I can and her mom does the same. When I lived in Portage I used to go there (Baraboo) quite a bit to see her, but since I moved back up here I haven't been able to go there very often. Anyway, her mom texted me today and sent an email. We talked on the phone and it was great to catch up with her. Ashley is doing well and planning on going to cosmotology school up towards this area...Wisconsin Rapids I think. I let her know we also have a beauty college here in Wausau. She is sending senior pictures. I sent her a link to recent pictures of the kids. I really wish it weren't so hard to keep in touch. I suppose I didn't work hard enough at it, but to be fair, neither did anyone else. I missed her growing up. Hopefully now that she will be closer we can try to get together again.

for the weekend. She's was up from 2:30-4:30 sick. Hopefully she will sleep it off.
DS moved out on Monday....YAY, but boo! Miss them, but they are only 3 minutes away so that isn't so bad. I am trying to get my scrap room set up again, but the cabinets I get to use are still up north and it looks like another 5 weeks before I can even think about going up there to get them....GRRRRRR! Maybe I can talk Todd and Derek into going up there on Saturday while Dad is there and getting them. Crossing my fingers.....
Not much else is going on. I only have 1.5 weeks left of my leave and I'm NOT looking forward to going back to work. I don't want to go! I don't want to go! I don't want to go! Maybe I should start playing the lotto quick before I go back, maybe I can hit the jackpot!

This Weekend

So, I had a crop planned for this weekend and had to cancel it as the Abby's mom had an emergency. It makes me feel bad because I had to cancel the one that was rescheduled after my surgery as well. I was able to keep the class though and I think that went well. Everyone said they liked it and hope they did. It was a bit advanced (well, time consuming) and we probably won't do one like that again this year. I'm hoping to have another workshop/class in May. Not sure what though.
